Gibely Cisneros-Estrada (she/her/her; pronounced "Ja-Belly") is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) in North Carolina who partners with individuals, couples, and families to co-create meaningful healing and growth. She received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University and brings a collaborative, strength-based approach that empowers clients to move toward the futures they envision.
Gibely embraces each client’s unique perspective and lived experience, integrating approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and play therapy to provide care tailored to each individual's needs.
Gibely has experience supporting clients with ADHD, symptoms of anxiety, depression, and grief. In her work with children and teens, she addresses concerns such as behavioral challenges, lack of motivation, emotional dysregulation, and difficulty with peer relationships. She works closely with children, teens, and their families to develop strategies that support positive behavior and help them reach their desired outcomes. In addition, she offers therapy for couples and families, supporting clients as they navigate life transitions such as blending households, co-parenting, coping with divorce, parental burnout, and cultural transitions.
Beyond clinical practice, Gibely has contributed to research on Latinx families’ experiences in the education system and the resilience of first-generation college students. She is passionate about Growth Mindset principles, which emphasize the belief that abilities and emotional skills can be developed over time. Gibely integrates this perspective into her work by helping clients reframe challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. By using language that highlights strengths and possibilities, she supports clients in shifting limiting beliefs and building confidence in their ability to heal and adapt. From "I can’t"... to "not yet!" Driven by a belief in the power of connection and empowerment, Gibely creates a safe, affirming, and compassionate space where clients are seen as the experts of their own experience.
When she’s not in the therapy room, Gibely enjoys sipping coffee in the mornings, soaking up the sun at the beach, singing terribly at karaoke, and watching incredible movies (she’s always open to new movie recommendations!)
