Dani Small, MSW

Education and Wellness Advocate

Prior to moving to NC, Dani’s work with the University of Washington’s Milgard Women’s Initiative was centered around promoting and advancing the equity of young women as socially responsible leaders throughout their communities. As an MSW and first-generation college student, her passions include equity and social justice, family strengthening, empowering support of marginalized communities, and doing important work in our local community. Dani has spent most of her career in the non-profit sector and social services, including working directly with individuals and families, leading programs and teams, and advocacy work at the statewide level. Through her graduate program, she attained learning practice in school social work and with the Department of Child, Youth, and Families, while receiving extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, spirituality, group interventions and mindful self-compassion. Dani holds a certificate in Trauma-Informed Chair Yoga and Mindfulness Practices and is currently working on her licensure to become a licensed clinical social worker.

As the Education and Wellness Consultant, Dani will work alongside TCP families by providing support, resources, and educational opportunities. As a systems-thinker, she’ll advocate for students’ educational, social, and emotional needs by serving as a liaison between home, school, and community. Bridging that gap is her specialty! She looks forward to working alongside the TCP team and making a positive impact in the lives of the children and families we serve.
